For the second day in a row, Lakshadweep continues to be the most searched keyword on Google in India. Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the island territory, there has been a sustained online buzz about it, generating interest in its remarkable beauty and distinctive culture.

Over 50,000 people searched for the Union Territory on Google on Friday, indicating a spike in interest in the area. The prime minister continued to praise the islands’ “stunning” beauty and the “incredible warmth” of its people, which prompted this increased attention.

From January 2 to January 3, Prime Minister Narendra Modi traveled to the Lakshadweep Islands. He inaugurated the Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands Submarine Optical Fibre Connection while he was there.

“Recently, I had the opportunity to be among the people of Lakshadweep. I am still in awe of the stunning beauty of its islands and the incredible warmth of its people. I had the opportunity to interact with people in Agatti, Bangaram and Kavaratti. I thank the people of the islands for their hospitality,” PM Modi wrote in a post on ‘X’.

The Prime Minister’s visit was more than just an official engagement where he established the framework for projects valued at Rs 1,150 crore; it served as a demonstration of the tranquil beauty and tourism potential of Lakshadweep. People all over India could relate to his stories of peaceful morning strolls along immaculate beaches and snorkeling in the crystal-clear blue waters.
