Ahoi Ashtami 2023: Date, Shubh Muhurat, Puja Rituals and Significance

Ahoi festival is an important festival celebrated in Hindu religion in which the Indian married women prays for the longevity and good health of their children. The festival is celebrated in the Kartik month on the eighth day of Krishna Paksha.

Goddess Ahoi Mata is worshipped in this festival and a fast is kept from sunrise to moonrise. Mothers break their fast after sighting the stars at night.

The festival is celebrated in relation to a story when a woman lost her seven sons and regained them through devotion of Ahoi Mata.
