Famous for his parts in movies like Valkyrie and Speed Racer, Christian Oliver lost his life on Thursday along with his two small daughters when his small plane went down in the water off the coast of a Caribbean island, according to Deadline. Oliver had 51 years old. The owner and pilot of the aircraft, Robert Sachs, perished in the collision as well.

The single-engine aircraft took off from J.F. Mitchell Airport in Bequia, a small island in the Caribbean nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and crashed on its way to neighboring St Lucia on Thursday afternoon, according to authorities. Among the dead were Oliver’s daughters, Madita, 12, and Annik, 10.

The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force said in a statement given to media outlets that “shortly after takeoff, the aircraft experienced difficulties and nose-dived into the ocean.” “Paget Farm fishermen and divers responded to the incident by bringing their boats to the scene to help.”

Officials report that all four bodies have been located. The investigation into the crash’s cause is still ongoing. Shortly after takeoff, the pilot radioed the tower to report that he was having trouble and would be returning, according to reports from the area. That was the last transmission from the aircraft.
Oliver had recently wrapped up filming the last scenes for his most recent film, Forever Hold Your Peace, which was co-directed by Nick Lyon and starred Bai Ling.
