The Premier League’s top team, Liverpool, will play Manchester United this Sunday at Anfield. A victory will be crucial for Jurgen Klopp and company to keep them atop the standings, particularly in light of Saturday’s 2-2 draw between Manchester City and Crystal Palace.

Manchester United, meanwhile, is currently struggling to manage a crisis brought on by their Champions League exit and poor form. They are currently ranked seventh. United has won three and lost two of their last five games. They were eliminated from the Champions League after losing badly to Bournemouth in their previous Premier League match.

Klopp is cautious about United’s threat despite their dismal play. He said this in advance of the match: “I never like it when the headlines about United are not great before we play because it’s like ‘OK, then it is the game where they can put everything right’.”

“Erik ten Hag was named manager of the month last month, and they were the team in form in terms of results last month, so how can it be all wrong? I don’t follow United closely enough to know exactly what the problem is there. I simply don’t get it.
