In Mount Kisco, New York, an EV fast charging station powered by solar energy was just installed. With the help of Sustainable Westchester, the project included two Jule 75-kW DC fast chargers, an energy storage system with 180 kWh, and an 85-kW solar array. Sustainable Westchester’s Community Solar program gives low- and moderate-income (LMI) households priority for any excess electricity produced by the facility.

The system was supported by the North American EV charger manufacturer Jule as well as a $250,000 grant from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure program. The endeavor advances the recent developments in Westchester County’s EV charging network, which include the installation of 34 new stations by the Village of Tuckahoe and 90 new stations by the City of Yonkers in April 2023.
