While it was being speculated whether or not the ₹20 crore barrier could be crossed today, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc both sped past it. After having an incredible year, Australian captain Cummins brought in a whopping ₹20.50 crore, with Sunrisers Hyderabad willing to pay a premium for the fast bowler. His record, however, was only temporary as KKR signed teammate and fellow Australian pace legend Mitchell Starc for an incredible ₹24.75 crore, guaranteeing him an IPL season for the first time in eight years.

Daryl Mitchell also saw a fierce bidding battle before being acquired by CSK for ₹14 crore. PBKS purchased Harshal Patel for ₹11.75 crore. RCB purchased Alzarri Joseph for ₹11.50 crore. Travis Head, a World Cup final hero for Australia and teammate of Cummins and Starc, was also acquired by SRH for ₹6.80 crore.

Even though it’s not quite as spectacular as the two-day IPL mega auction, today’s event in Dubai is still quite impressive. Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Travis Head, Rachin Ravindra, and other celebrities are on the star-studded list, and they all promise to provide an engaging eight or more hours of entertainment. And hello, hello! In order to acquire some of the best players available, the returning Rishabh Pant will be on the Delhi Capitals table employing all of his strategies and tactics.

The 10 teams have an incredible purse of ₹262.95 crore from which to choose. The Gujarat Titans have the largest purse, with ₹38.15 crore, while the Sunrisers Hyderabad have the second-biggest purse, ₹34 crore. The other two teams with over ₹30 crore to spend are Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. With ₹28.95 crore, ₹23.25 crore, and ₹29.1 crore, respectively, to hone their player rosters, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Punjab Kings also have an abundance of funds. The teams with the lowest war chests among their rivals are the Rajasthan Royals (₹14.5 crore), Mumbai Indians (₹17.75 crore), and Lucknow Super Giants (₹13.15 crore).
