Cole Palmer scored twice in the second half of Chelsea’s 3-2 victory at Kenilworth Road on Saturday, holding off a late Luton Town comeback to resume winning ways. Noni Madueke‘s goal was the winning score.

With just over ten minutes of regular time left, the costlyly assembled Blues, who had dropped their previous four Premier League away games, were up 3-0 and appeared certain to win all three points.

After Luton defender Issa Kabore made a mistake, Palmer capitalized to give the Blues the lead in the 12th minute with a powerful angled shot that soared past Thomas Kaminski.

When Chelsea left-back Levi Colwill fed Palmer on the break and Madueke’s pass found Madueke, who created just enough space to fire high into Kaminski’s net, Luton was caught off guard in the 37th minute.

In the 70th minute, Madueke paid it forward by splitting Luton’s defense and finding Palmer, who maintained composure to round Kaminski and hold off a swarm of defenders before slotting home for the third goal.

In the 80th minute, Ross Barkley, a former Chelsea midfielder, headed in what appeared to be a consolation goal for the home team off a corner kick by Alfie Doughty. Elijah Adebayo cut the deficit to one goal after seven minutes, but Luton was unable to equalize.
